Ice Boys MMA was founded out of necessity โ when there's nowhere that facilitates your goals in a way you see fit, you have to be able to trust your own judgement. After meeting at another local gym, for over a year we visited other gyms, trained in public spaces, sometimes even outside.
In our journey we found thinking critically in your own best interest always pays off, even if you have to do it alone.
We started Ice Boys MMA so we could share our passion for combat sport, and continue to develop our own coaching methodology.
Ice Boys MMA is Wellington's first and only dedicated Mixed Martial Arts Gym. We are working hard to build a strong, core fight team. Our aim is to help facilitate the growth of combat skills across all disciplines.
We have a firm focus on skill acquisition. Our goal as coaching staff is to increase both the individual and collective skill level as much as possible every session. And to create adaptable, confident individuals, based on real proof in training. We strive to do so in as safe a manner as possible, so you can focus on getting better instead of getting hurt.
We train beginners, all the way through to professional fighters. We have experience coaching all levels, so no matter where you're at, we can meet you.
If you've had the desire to pick up the skills training MMA has to offer, to build confidence or fight. You're keen to train with people that are on the same wave, AND you're willing to put the work in and think for yourself โ you've found your place.
MMA, striking, and grappling facilitated by coaches who have real competition experience that grounds what we teach.
We believe every class should make you feel like you've improved. So we structure our training to match our belief.
A team that shows up for one another and actively invests in the growth of each member.
